OKC specializes in fabricating, installing and servicing various types of water control gates. OUR Products

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Flap Gates are designed to automatically discharge water from upstream and closed to prevent back flow to mitigate flooding. 

Applications:

  • Allow water to flow out for discharge and closed to prevent backflow 
  • Self-operating control by hydro force (no human intervention needed)
  • Effective tidal and flood control
  • Suitable use for water, waste water and pipeline application

Roller gates are installed where the waterway openings are large. Roller gates may be manually operated by the hoisting system or automatically operated by the SCADA system. They may be designed as either upward or downward openings. Roller gates are fabricated based on the height and width of the openings and depth of water.

A tilting gate controls water level by raising and lowering the leaf to permit water flow from the upstream to a lower drainage basin. The tilting gate shall be between a 60 and 70 degree angle upward from the horizontal channel bottom when in the fully closed position. When fully opened, the gate shall lay parallel with the concrete channel bottom to allow for full flow. Tilting gate is operated by hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic power pack

Product Size Range:

Radial gates (also known as tainter gates) are designed for water control and used for a wide, clear waterway opening. Radial gates consist of a curved plate supported by a structural steel frame and the radial arms at the side of the opening. Water flows underneath the curved face as the gate is opened. The hosting system is used to raise or lower the radial gate.

Applications:

  • Installed where the waterway openings are wide
  • Use for increase reservoir capacity
  • In spillways or in drainage canals to maintain water elevations
  • Diversion of water for irrigation

Screw down gates and slide gates use the same mechanism which water flows through when the gate is open and flow is impeded when the gate is closed.

Penstock known as sluice gate control water by raising the gate to release water flow and lowering the gate to impede water. OKC supplies embedded penstock in concrete, wall-mounted penstock and channel-mounted penstock.

Our pump gates are self-invented. OKC is the first pump gate fabricator in Malaysia. OKC has registered a patent for the new design pump gate. Our pump gates are cost-saving as they can utilize the existing gate and structure. Our pump gate requires less installation time and less space or land compared to other gates. Our pump gates consist of three main components, namely column/discharge pipe, column-type electrical submersible axial-flow pump and roller gate. The performance of our pumps meets acceptance grade 28 of international Standard BS EN ISO 9906. The design of our pump gates meet the Japanese standard.

Stop log is used to block water or dewatering the channel for maintenance works. Stop log is an instant effective barrier and ideal for temporary isolation and flow control.

Gate hoist or hoisting system is normally employed for gate installation. Hoisting system is a mechanical machine used for opening or closing the gate. The hoisting system may include an electrical motor and brake, shafts, couplings, gear reducer units, pillow blocks, cable drums, sheaves and wire ropes. AKPA 1A and spindle or steering are normally used in the hoisting system specially for screw down gate and penstock.

A log boom (also known as log fence or log bag) is a barrier that collects, intercepts and contains floating material or submerged debris such as domestic waste, wetlands, logs and etc. in rivers, reservoirs, oceans and lakes. Log boom is built of high-strength materials thus it is durable to withstand heavy floating material such as timber. According to research, the log booms are capable of pulling out 800 to 900 MT of garbage per month.

Pump column (also known as discharge pipe) is a long tube made of metal that is used to discharge water from one place to another.

Applications:

  • Use to discharge water from the flooded area
  • Submersible pump are supported inside the discharge column pipe in the pump sump
  • Use for submersible pumping assembly applications

A trash screen is an effective tool that is used to filter out debris or trash in the path of a waterway. Trash screens are important to prevent debris and trash from entering penstocks, culverts, spillways and dam intakes to prevent blockage.
